Off we go to Almonte Ontario, about 40 minutes from Ottawa to see 'BUTTON MANIA' and 'FIBERFEST'. Curator Lacelle brought some of the galleries latest arrivals. I love buttons! Tons of antique, glass, early depression bakelite and some new buttons all for sale at ok prices. FiberFest on the other hand held at various locations in the historic town of Almonte was kind of low energy except for my friend Joan Alexander selling her exquisitely cobbled quilt jackets.

The St-Charbel Maronite Church in Ottawa held it's 17th annual 'Gathering Around The Virgin Mary Fair' this weekend. What a delight it was discovering it by accident while biking down Donald street on my way back from Dollarama, yesterday. Man, you want a fair with lots of good food and lots of fun things to look at this is it. And of course if you are inclined to rest your thoughts and soul for a moment and pray to the Virgin Mary.

howdy ya'll,

More rain on this tourDAtour of MAILart - we curate a small MAILart gallery called GOOP - basically we receive/send small postcard sizes of art around the world and receive art back and exhibit that art thru our small gallery - GOOP Gallery - during the year we go on a few tourDAtours showing the art in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways NOT in conventional gallery ways - we show in coffee chops, donut shops, laundromats, fishmarkets, outside in doorways, parks, etc... lots of fun - now we're on a two week tourDAtour from Ontario to Newfoundland doing our curating of MAIL ART.

so far on this 'tourDAtour' we've shown in Ottawa, Smith Falls, Belleville, Toronto, Kingston, Montreal, Trois Riviere, Quebec City, Riviere du Loup, Edmunston, Woodstock, on our way to Newfoundland having fun. (this Saturday GOOP will be at the Boyce Market and at the Mazerolle Gallery on Queen St. in F'ton from 11-one p.m. come on down!!)
